eAlarm Safemode
eAlarm Safemode
eAlarm Safemode is a supplement to eAlarm emergency. It is a stand-alone emergency system to eAlarm emergency and offers the customer additional security.
Why is eAlarm Safemode
eAlarm emergency is a geo-redundant alerting service, which is located on two separate platforms. The architecture is designed so that the changeover on the platforms is uninterrupted, be it during maintenance work or network disturbances. This requires the synchronization of data from both platforms. If the database synchronization were to fail, the entire service would not be available.
In order to prevent such a situation, Swisscom has put an independent emergency system into operation to complement the two eAlarm platforms: eAlarm Safemode.
What is eAlarm Safemode?
eAlarm Safemode is a stand-alone alerting system that allows eAlarm emergency customers to trigger alarms at any time.
The eAlarm Safemode system uses its own infrastructure (application and telephony server) and is located in another Swisscom data center (geographically at a different location than all servers of the two platforms of eAlarm emergency).
How does eAlarm Safemode work?
The database and the application of eAlarm emergency are periodically copied to eAlarm Safemode. The copying process is a manually initiated process. This ensures that a possible error in eAlarm emergency is not automatically copied to eAlarm Safemode.
eAlarm Safemode works almost identically for you as eAlarm emergency customer: The login and password as well as all your alarm scenarios are the same as for eAlarm emergency.
You can log in to eAlarm Safemode via a dedicated website and have your configuration of eAlarm emergency immediately available.
Your benefit with eAlarm Safemode
- In the event that eAlarm emergency would not be available, alert in your visually familiar environment anyway.
- Alert on your groups and templates you have configured in eAlarm emergency.
- The majority of eAlarm emergency functionality is available on eAlarm Safemode. You will find online a list of restrictions (under Help).
